Monday Gau Seva — A Sacred Offering to Lord Shiva & His Beloved Nandi

Mondays hold a deep spiritual significance in Sanatan Dharma. It is the day devoted to Lord Shiva, the compassionate destroyer of negativity, and the divine protector of all creatures. Among all beings, the cow (Gau Mata) is considered closest to Shiva because Nandi, His eternal vehicle and foremost devotee, is a bull — an embodiment of purity, patience, and devotion.

Why Gau Seva on Monday Is Spiritually Powerful?

📜 Scriptural Connection

Ancient texts describe that serving Gau Mata on Monday pleases both Lord Shiva and Nandi. It is believed that:

  • Feeding or caring for cows removes obstacles,
  • Purifies the mind,
  • And brings peace, health, and blessings to the devotee’s home.

🔱 Symbol of Dharma

The cow represents Ahimsa (non-violence) and Dharma. Lord Shiva — the Adiyogi — teaches compassion for all beings. Offering Seva to the cow is like offering service directly at the feet of Shiva.

🌿 Energetic Alignment

Monday is ruled by the Moon, which controls emotions and the mind. Gau Seva on this day helps stabilize mental energies, bring calmness, and reduce stress.

🙏 Your Monday Seva Can Save a Life

At Punyakart Foundation hundreds of abandoned, injured, and elderly cows depend on us. Many are rescued from roads, accidents, or illness.

On Mondays, devotees step forward to offer Nandi Seva by supporting:

  • Fresh fodder for hungry cows
  • Medical care for injured or sick cows
  • Shelter for elderly and abandoned cows
  • Rescue operations for distressed animals

Each Monday, one act of kindness becomes a direct offering to Lord Shiva.
